The colonization of America was carried out substantially by the Crown of Castile (dynamically linked to the Indian kingdoms) and is the continuation of a first expansion and colonizing experience of the Kingdom of Castile in the Canary Islands, in which it tried for the first time on a certain scale the experience of conquering, repopulating and managing a new territory, inhabited by unknown peoples, assimilating and Christianizing them in the process.
